Page Hamilton is a Funny Guy

I've been a fan of Helmet ever since I heard "Meantime" back in high school. My musical tastes have evolved quite a bit, but I still dig their heavy, angular sound. Helmet has undergone a few lineup changes (and disbanded and reformed) since 1992, so I was wondering if they still had it.

Anyway, I just found a live Helmet show from 2004 from my favorite goldmine, and it's a gem. Heavy as ever, and a good range of songs from most of their albums. I hope they're still playing shows by the time I get back to the US.

The biggest surprise is how funny Page Hamilton is. Check out some of his wit (and the crowd) - Helmet - Unsung (live in Cleveland).
Definitely an impressive handling of a drunken, rowdy audience. Enjoy...

Update

You need to be motivated to keep a blog updated. I'm having more fun keeping up with my usual feed diet than actually bothering to post anything. It's going to take a bit of prodding.

But for now at least, I'll start adding more current juicy stuff...check the bottom left corner.

For now, read about Plutonomics.

Surrealistic Dessert

Let's start things off with a plug for my old school psych band created with a college friend. A little embarrassing to listen to these days, but "Chyme Casserole" rocks! And you gotta show some love for the page design.

Check it out

Update - The host is down for now. Keep checking back...
